Prior authorization or proving medical necessity may be required for some medications. Please direct patients to Express Scripts for questions concerning home delivery and member choice support.
Military hospital or clinic
Military hospitals and clinics on bases and posts generally have their own pharmacies and offer the least expensive prescription options for medications they have in stock. Before visiting, patients should call the military pharmacy to confirm if their prescription is available. Find a military pharmacy.
TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery
TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery is a convenient option for beneficiaries who take prescription medications on a regular basis. With home delivery, beneficiaries can receive up to a 90-day supply of eligible prescription medications delivered right to their door. The most common way of sending prescriptions is through e-prescribing.
TRICARE retail network pharmacy
Non-military pharmacies are part of the network established for TRICARE retail network pharmacy services. Patients can find a network retail pharmacy by using the Find a pharmacy tool.
If using a non-network pharmacy, patients may need to pay the full amount for the drug up front. Patients can then file a claim for reimbursement. Reimbursements are subject to applicable deductibles, cost-shares and copayments.
Accredo provides specialty pharmacy services when a beneficiary fills an eligible TRICARE-defined specialty medication using TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. Accredo is an accredited specialty pharmacy serving patients with complex and chronic health conditions. If a specialty medication is not available through home delivery, beneficiaries may continue to fill prescriptions at TRICARE retail network pharmacies, including Accredo. Learn more about Accredo.
